How
does hCG work?
|
Most calorie counters
know that one pound of fat is equivalent to 3,500 calories.
Jogging one mile burns about 100 calories. If you're 50 pounds
overweight, you need to jog from San Francisco to Dallas (1,750
miles) to mathematically burn 50 pounds. However, if weight
were lost that easily, many more Americans would be jogging
from coast to coast.
Many Americans work out regularly and burn the calories but
can't seem to lose the weight. The reason why? They
are burning the wrong calories.
To explain, there
are three types of fats in the human body: |
• Structural
fat: this fills the gaps between organs and acts
as a sort of "packing material" for the body.
• Normal reserves: the body draws
upon this fat when nutritional intake is less than what
the body demands. This is the type of fat you lose on most
diets.
• Abnormal fat: abnormal and excessive
accumulations are fixed deposits of fats throughout the
body and cause obesity. The body is unable to draw on this
fat in emergencies.

Medical
Intervention for weight loss |
When exercising or restricting
food intake, the body relies on and consumes (burns) the normal
fat reserves for energy. That’s the way the body was naturally
designed or created. But here is the problem! The body was not
naturally designed to access the abnormal fat accumulations.
Thus the need for some type of intervention to access the abnormal
fat accumulations. The use of the hCG hormone opens the way
for the body to release the abnormal fat deposits and makes
the fat available for consumption by the body.
Most patients on our hCG
Let's Get Slim Again program lose about one pound per
day.
Because the hCG hormone makes the abnormal fat available, the
body begins living off the fat – the fat provides a source
of energy, just as food does. Patients are instructed to reduce
food to 500 calories per day; however, hunger is not noticed
because 3,500 additional calories are consumed each day by the
body. The results: Though not a guarantee most patients may
lose about one pound per day while using the hCG hormone. |

What is HCG?
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a natural hormone that
should not be confused with a growth hormone. |
hCG is a prescription drug
: it can only be purchased legally by a licensed physician and
its administration must be supervised by a licensed physician. |

| How was hCG developed
for weight loss? |
In
the 1950s, in Rome, Italy, Dr. Simeons was looking for a cure
for obesity. Not simply another weight loss program, where dieters
would lose pounds and then put them right back on again after
they went off their rigid calorie control.
He wanted to see the overweight problem ended. In other
words, when weight came off, it stayed off.
Dr. Simeons, a British medical doctor, had a hunch that weight
gain and overeating are rooted in a single underlying problem.
He puzzled over this for years.
While in India, he noticed that women who were pregnant during
times of hunger, living on a mere 200 calories a day and losing
weight throughout their pregnancy, nevertheless had full-term
healthy babies. How could this be?
It dawned on him that, by some unknown means, a hungry woman's
pregnancy mobilized her fat to feed her baby.
Dr. Simeons was aware that the hormone HCG (human chorionic
gonadotropin) increases during pregnancy. Might this be the
key?
Over the next 16 years, this British medical doctor ran a clinic
attached to a hospital in Italy, combining injections of hCG
with a short-term specific diet that dampens hunger while the
body burns fat on a very specific diet. He successfully treated
some 10,000 patients. Royalty and the very wealthy flocked to
him-the kind of people who could afford to spend 40 days in
his clinic.
In due course, other doctors began studying Dr. Simeons' unique
protocol and taking it back with them to different parts of
Europe. Amazingly, in person after person the pounds and inches
came off-and stayed off.
What people were losing wasn't simply weight, but fat
- a particular kind of fat. That hard to lose fat!
We generally think of fat as just "fat," but in fact
there are three distinct kinds of fat-two of which
we need, and one we don't. If you've tried dieting, perhaps
diet after diet, and found that the weight comes back, it's
because diets can't rid us of the one kind of fat that most
needs to be eliminated.
Of the three kinds of fat, structural fat is essential because
it cushions our organs. Then there's the kind of fat that gives
us a reserve of energy, fueling the body between meals. But
a third kind of fat-the unsightly fat that ruins our appearance-is
totally unhealthy. This unwanted fat is not only unhealthy,
it just happens to be almost impossible to lose. It can be mobilized
only in times of starvation and pregnancy.
In women, abnormal fat tends to accumulate around the middle
and thighs. In men, it's around the belly and chest. In both
cases, it's extremely difficult to get rid of. The usual approaches
to weight loss just don't budge it. Thus we have over weight
individuals with the apple and pear shaped look. We even have
the muffin shape.
The genius of Dr. Simeons was to recognize that hCG triggers
the body to burn this type of fat. It seems to reset the hypothalmus
gland, along with areas of the brain that regulate a variety
of hormones, blood sugar metabolism, blood pressure, and other
key body functions.

Disclaimer:
These weight reduction treatments include oral HCG or an injection of
HCG, a drug which has not been approved by the food and drug administration
as safe and effective in the treatment of obesity or weight control. There
is no substantial evidence that HCG increases weight loss beyond that
resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or
“normal” distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger
and discomfort associated with calorie-restrictive diets. |
